Supply Chain Management Role

The Supply Chain Manager position plays a crucial role in overseeing end-to-end supply chain functions. This encompasses production planning and control, plant sourcing, store management, logistics, and scrap management.

  • Production Planning & Scheduling
    • Maintain alignment of material availability with the production plan to ensure zero downtime.
    • Collaborate with production, sales, and central planning teams for demand forecasting and capacity planning.
    • Monitor daily and weekly production plans and adjust schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Procurement & Supplier Coordination
    • Evaluate and manage raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables procurement.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to track purchase orders, delivery timelines, and quality compliance.
  • Inventory Management
    • Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
    • Monitor stock ageing and initiate timely disposal or consumption plans.
  • Warehousing & Logistics
    • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure on-time deliveries.
    • Manage warehouse operations, space utilization, and storage safety.
  • Cost & Process Optimization
    • Identify and implement initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
    • Drive process improvements using lean methodologies.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • On-time availability of materials
  • Production adherence vs plan
  • Inventory turnover & stock accuracy
  • OTIF delivery performance
  • SCM cost savings achieved

Requirements:

  • Graduate in Engineering / Science / Commerce (MBA or PG in Supply Chain preferred)
  • 12-20 years of relevant experience in supply chain or operations management in a manufacturing setup
  • Strong understanding of production planning, MRP, logistics, and warehousing practices
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
