Job Title: Experienced DMSII Database Administrator

Description:

We are seeking an experienced DMSII database administrator to join our team. As a DMSII DBA, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining the integrity of our DMSII databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and administer DMSII databases.
  • Monitor database performance, space utilization, and availability.
  • Manage sets, subsets, and indexes for efficient data access.
  • Handle database backups, journals, and roll-forward recovery procedures.
  • Support schema changes and database reorganizations.
  • Assist with capacity planning and ensure data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot performance or access issues with application and system teams.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and backup policy compliance.
  • Implement and maintain security, audit trails, and user access controls.
Required Skills:
  • Strong experience with Unisys DMSII database administration.
  • Knowledge of DMUTILITY, DMSUPPORT, and database reorganization tools.
  • Understanding of journaling, quiet point backups, and roll-forward recovery.
  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting database issues.
  • Familiarity with COBOL, ALGOL, or other Unisys mainframe application integration.
  • Knowledge of batch jobs, JCL equivalents, and operational support tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience as a DMSII DBA or Unisys Mainframe DBA.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
