Job Description

As an Oracle UIM consultant, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex OSS inventory solutions using multiple Oracle Communications OSS stack products. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with best practices.

This role provides the opportunity to contribute to the development of UIM cartridges, extension points, and rule sets for advanced customization. You will also model both logical and physical inventory within UIM cartridges, integrate UIM with upstream and downstream systems, and troubleshoot and configure base application packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead UIM cartridge development, installation, and configuration.
  • Configure extension points and rule sets for advanced customization.
  • Model both logical and physical inventory within UIM cartridges.
  • Integrate UIM with upstream and downstream systems using standard and custom web services, UIM APIs, and SFWS.
  • Work with UIM Inventory Managers, including Service Manager, CO Manager, and Search Criteria Manager.
  • Develop and configure Calculate Technical Actions for various services.
  • Perform code build and deployment for development and testing environments.
  • Troubleshoot and configure base application packages.
  • Maintain technical and process documentation in alignment with organizational standards.
Required Skills & Competencies

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Oracle UIM (7.2.x) and experience in cartridge development, rule set development, and customization. Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments and Unix shell scripting is also required.

Core technical skills in Java, PL/SQL, and WebServices (development and debugging) are essential. Knowledge of network domains such as Wireless, Cable, DSL, and VoIP, as well as exposure to Enterprise and Retail Voice/Data/GSM implementations, are highly desirable.

Conceptual modeling knowledge for logical and physical inventory, familiarity with Oracle RODOD/RSDOD and TMF/eTOM, SID Data Model standards, and strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities are necessary.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications is preferred, but not required.
