Job Overview:

The role of a Junior Production Chemist entails assisting in the preparation and execution of chemical production batches, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure precise and consistent product quality.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and execute chemical production batches according to SOPs
  • Safely manage pyrophoric reagents, Raney nickel, and operate pressure reactors (autoclave)
  • Perform filtration of low-melting solids and ensure optimal filtration techniques are applied
  • Report any deviations from specifications and troubleshoot issues with senior chemists
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch records, test results, and deviations from standard procedures
  • Generate reports and summaries as required by production and quality control teams
  • Comply with safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment
  • Identify and report safety hazards or concerns promptly
  • Operate production equipment such as reactors, mixers, and filters
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and research and development
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth production process
  • Participate actively in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality
  • Suggest ideas for optimizing production workflows

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Candidates with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in chemistry may apply
  • Individuals with up to 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical production sector
  • A strong willingness to learn, adapt, and work effectively as part of a team
  • A desire to gain experience in leading and contributing to production
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex scientific concepts
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creative mindset to drive innovation

Work Environment:
