Coding Specialist

  • We are seeking a skilled Coding Specialist to review patient medical records, assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT guidelines.
  • Responsibilities include conducting Risk Adjustment / HCC coding, performing chart audits to evaluate documentation insufficiencies, maintaining accurate coded data, and resolving queries with providers or documentation authors.
  • This role requires staying up-to-date with coding changes, industry regulations, payer policies, and coding certification requirements.
  • Maintaining productivity and accuracy targets is crucial in this position.
  • The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and proficiency with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other coding systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills for interacting with providers, auditors, etc., are essential for success.
  • Familiarity with EHR / EMR tools, MS Office, and coding / auditing software is also required.

Requirements

  • Certification: CPC and/or CRC from recognized bodies (e.g. AAPC).
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree preferably in Life Sciences.
  • Experience: Typically 1-3 years coding experience in U.S. healthcare / risk adjustment / HCC / multispecialty coding.
