Job Description:

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the design, planning, and execution support for Coalbed Methane (CBM) wells.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Well Planning & Design:
    • Develop well designs in alignment with reservoir and geo-mechanical models.
    • Create cost-optimized and fit-for-purpose completions for CBM production.
  • Engineering & Cost Control:
    • Generate drilling and completion Authorization for Expenditure (AFE).
    • Assist in developing Scope of Work and technical specifications for Drilling & Well Completion equipment.
  • Operational Support:
    • Provide real-time technical support to the execution team during drilling, casing, cementing, and completions.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate closely with subsurface teams for well targeting and zonal optimization.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all well designs and activities adhere to statutory regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of upstream oil & gas experience, with 3+ years specifically in CBM operations.
  • Proven experience in well design and engineering for low-pressure, unconventional gas wells.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in well design software.
  • Strong knowledge of CBM reservoir behavior and gas production mechanisms.
  • Budgeting and AFE preparation.
