Oracle Database Administration Lead

Job Overview

Our organization seeks an accomplished Oracle Database Administration Lead to spearhead database migration projects across various cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in Oracle Exadata, Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC), and other cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive migration strategies to ensure seamless delivery of databases across diverse environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cloud architects, infrastructure specialists, and application owners, to guarantee smooth migrations with minimal business disruption.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer to maintain a repository of best practices.
  • Communicate migration progress, status, and outcomes to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 12 years of experience in Oracle Database administration, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Data Guard setup, switchover, failover, and role transitions.
  • Experience with Rubrik for backup, restore, and DR integration.
  • OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and migration validation.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of GoldenGate for real-time replication.
  • Familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for IaC-based DB provisioning.
  • Experience in hybrid migration scenarios (on-prem to Exadata, Exadata to ExaCC, ExaCC to cloud).
