Electrical Design Engineering Manager

A highly skilled Electrical Design Engineering Manager is required to lead electrical design engineering activities for large-scale solar power plants, gas power plants, battery energy storage systems, and substation projects up to 220kV.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of electrical designers to develop and implement electrical designs that meet client requirements and adhere to grid compliance and permitting regulations. This includes performing accurate system sizing calculations, executing designs, and ensuring timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents in alignment with project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Electrical Design Engineering Activities: Lead a team of electrical designers to develop and implement electrical designs for large-scale solar power plants, gas power plants, battery energy storage systems, and substation projects up to 220kV.
2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure client needs and internal deadlines are met.
3. Ensure Timely Delivery of Engineering Drawings and Documents: Ensure that deliveries are aligned to project schedules, and engineering drawings and documents are delivered on time.
4. Perform Accurate System Sizing Calculations: Perform accurate system sizing calculations to ensure that electrical designs meet client requirements and adhere to grid compliance and permitting regulations.
5. Execute Designs: Execute electrical designs that meet client requirements and adhere to grid compliance and permitting regulations.
6. Capable of Multitasking: Capable of multitasking and delivering multiple tasks on time, including estimating and planning man-hour requirements.
7. Provide Technical Sales Support: Provide technical sales support by educating prospective customers about our offerings and helping develop trust with customers on a technical level.
8. Coordinate Inter-Departmental Checks: Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure inter-departmental checks are completed, and provide support and clarifications to the site execution team.
9. Review Drawings and Obtain Approvals: Review drawings by design engineers, draughts persons, checking of design sizing calculations of engineering electrical equipment, and obtaining approvals from clients.
10. Prepare Pre-Bid Tender Quotations: Prepare pre-bid tender quotations, including energy estimation, risk analysis, and cost optimization approaches.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required.
• Strong Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and lead a team of electrical designers.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information to clients and stakeholders.
• Experience in Electrical Design Engineering: Experience in electrical design engineering, including the development and implementation of electrical designs for large-scale solar power plants, gas power plants, battery energy storage systems, and substation projects up to 220kV.
• Knowledge of Grid Compliance and Permitting Regulations: Knowledge of grid compliance and permitting regulations, including the ability to perform accurate system sizing calculations and execute designs that meet client requirements.
