We recently launched a discount broking platform called HDFC Sky in addition to HDFC InvestRight, which is our existing full-service broking platform. We are currently enhancing and scaling these platforms even further to continue to delight our valued customers.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Application L2 Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing second-level technical support for critical backend applications and infrastructure in a 24/7 operational environment. You will respond to and resolve complex application issues escalated from L1 support, ensuring minimal system downtime. You will also monitor system health, performance, and availability using various tools and dashboards. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and diagnose issues across multiple technology stacks and environments, execute and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles. You will participate in on-call rotations to provide round-the-clock support for critical systems and collaborate with development teams and other stakeholders to implement fixes and improvements. You will assist in conducting root cause analysis for major incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews. You will also help implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for early detection of potential issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Application Support or similar IT roles. You will need to have strong troubleshooting skills across Linux environments and cloud-based applications. You will also need to have experience with AWS services and architecture, including CloudWatch for log analysis. Additionally, you will need to have familiarity with container technologies, particularly Kubernetes. You will need to have basic understanding of infrastructure as code concepts (e.g., Terraform). You will also need to have experience with database management and troubleshooting, particularly Redis and Oracle. You will need to have knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and common deployment issues. Furthermore, you will need to have familiarity with API concepts and troubleshooting API-related issues. You will also need to have experience with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and ITIL processes. You will need to have basic understanding of application performance monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic). You will also need to have experience with log analysis tools like Elasticsearch/Kibana. You will need to have ability to write and maintain shell scripts for automation and troubleshooting. You will also need to have strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will also need to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Additional Requirements

You will need to be willing to work in a 24/7 shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will also need to be able to adapt to a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment. Additionally, you will need to be a strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in FinTech or other highly regulated industries would be a plus. ITIL foundation certification would also be beneficial. Experience with additional monitoring and observability tools would be an asset. Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks would also be a plus.
