Job Title: Teradata Database Administrator

About the Role:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of database architecture and be proficient in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance databases. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies for data management, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Teradata databases to optimize performance and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
- Conduct regular backups and recovery processes to ensure minimal downtime and maximum data availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database performance, security, and maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience as a Teradata DBA or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of Teradata tools and utilities, including TTU, Teradata Studio, and BTEQ.
- Strong understanding of backup and recovery processes, including DSA Backup, Data Mover, and queries/scripts.
- Familiarity with TASM portlets, workload management, alerts, and configurations.
- Ability to manage and monitor system performance to ensure services with minimal downtime.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as cloud platforms (Azure).

Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with IBM Datastage ETL tool and Autosys knowledge.
- Familiarity with release management of database changes as part of path to production.
- Knowledge of query optimization techniques based on observed or raised issues by other teams.
- Understanding of DBQL logs and PDCR logs.
