Dental Director Job Description

This role entails leading a team of dental professionals in delivering top-notch patient care and treatment. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to make informed decisions.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Scaling and Polishing: Removal of plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth to prevent gum disease.
  • Root Canal Treatment: Diagnosing tooth pulp infection or inflammation, removing infected pulp tissue, cleaning, shaping, and disinfecting the canal, filling and sealing the root canal, and placing a crown or filling for tooth restoration.
  • Cavity Filling & Restoration: Repairing tooth decay and restoring teeth to their natural appearance.
  • Tooth Extractions & Minor Oral Surgeries: Removing teeth that are damaged or impacted, as well as performing minor oral surgeries such as biopsies and excisions.
  • Oral Health Education & Preventive Care: Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and providing preventive care measures to maintain good oral health.
  • Nursing Activities (Dental/Clinical Setting): Assisting in dental procedures, preparing and sterilizing equipment, patient preparation and education, monitoring vital signs during procedures, post-operative care and instructions, and maintaining medical/dental records.
  • Doctor Activities (General Practitioners or Specialists): Diagnosis and treatment planning based on symptoms and test results, prescribing medications for infections, pain, etc., referral to specialists, monitoring chronic conditions, providing anesthesia clearance, and patient counseling and health education.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Dentistry or related field
  • Current licensure as a dentist in the state of practice
  • Proven leadership experience in a dental setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make informed decisions and manage multiple priorities
  • Up-to-date knowledge of dental techniques and technologies
