Job opportunity: Principal Controls Engineer

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers ensuring skill and competency development.
  • Manage team escalations, resource allocation, hiring, and subcontracting activities.
  • Identify training needs and implement structured training programs.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering, Project Management, Service, and R&D teams as a consultant.
  • Monitor project risks and opportunities driving improvements across teams.
  • Ensure system performance validation through thorough testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to department KPIs.
  • Provide technical oversight during commissioning and ensure smooth customer handovers.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for project execution and team management.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong leadership with proven experience managing engineers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in global project environments.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities with a focus on delivery within time and budget.
  • Proactive innovative and improvement-driven mindset.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC mandatory and Allen Bradley PLC preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in the design and execution of integrated control systems.
  • Ability to align control designs with project goals.
  • Skilled in preparing and executing project plans and schedules.
  • Experience in driving standardization and process improvement across projects.
  • Practical involvement in commissioning and customer delivery phases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 10-12 years of experience in PLC programming.
  • Prior experience in Airport Baggage Handling Systems or Parcel Handling Solutions is strongly preferred.
