Lead Storage Solutions Engineer

A seasoned storage professional is needed to oversee a team of engineers in a dynamic 24/7 Data Center environment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing a high-performing team, ensuring seamless operations, and driving excellence in all aspects of storage engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and lead a team of skilled storage engineers
  • Closely monitor dashboards, alerts, incidents, and reports to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with various teams to resolve complex technical issues and optimize storage solutions
  • Maintain accurate team rosters and escalation matrices
  • Participate in daily monitoring calls to discuss critical alerts and observations, driving timely resolutions and process improvements
  • Continuously evaluate and refine storage alerts to minimize false positives and maximize actionable insights
  • Foster strong relationships with monitoring tools teams and vendors to stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies
  • Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) efforts and write comprehensive postmortems for critical incidents
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. At least 7-9 years of experience in the storage domain with a proven track record of success
  2. Extensive knowledge of various storage systems, including IBM, NetApp, Hitachi, HPE, and DELL EMC
  3. Deep understanding of Brocade SAN switches and overall storage architecture principles
  4. Strong grasp of RAID, NAS, and SAN switch concepts, as well as storage vendor OEM monitoring tools and SANnav, stor2rrd, or Hitachi HyperOps
  5. Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing and troubleshooting SAN storage incidents
  6. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  7. Demonstrated expertise in working in a team-oriented environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business outcomes
  8. Proficiency in Excel for creating detailed reports and analyzing data
