Senior Legal Advisor

The Senior Legal Advisor plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the University's interests by providing expert legal counsel, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, managing litigation, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and advising on policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Legal Advice and Compliance: Provide timely and accurate legal advice to senior management, ensuring the University adheres to all relevant laws and regulations.
  2. Contract and Document Management: Draft, review, and vet legal documents, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and standard agreements with external parties.
  3. Litigation Management: Coordinate with external legal advisors and standing counsels on court matters, preparing responses to grievances and attending court when necessary.
  4. Policy Development: Monitor and manage internal legal processes, update existing internal policies, and help formulate and implement new ones.
  5. Grievance and Dispute Resolution: Serve as a member secretary for committees, such as the Committee Against Sexual Harassment, and handle internal disputes from a legal perspective.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution with Bar Council of India registration.
  • Minimum of six years of experience as an advocate or working in the legal department of an organization, preferably in the education sector.
  • Possesses strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Knowledge of Telugu is essential.
