Key Role of a Legal Compliance Specialist

The primary responsibility of a legal compliance specialist is to ensure that regulatory standards are meticulously upheld, fostering a compliant environment within the organization.

Essential Job Functions
  • Compliance Champion: Identify and document client contract requirements, communicating effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to pre-engagement screening and onboarding processes.
  • Contract Template Management: Verify that contractor contract templates used by assignment teams align with client terms, maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Audit Support: Collaborate with colleagues in conducting internal audits of business activities, focusing on compliance with contractor pre-engagement screening and onboarding requirements.
  • Database Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases related to commercial compliance, ensuring seamless accessibility and organization.
  • Procedure Adherence: Comply with established commercial compliance procedures, guaranteeing consistency and reliability in all compliance activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree (law preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum two of the following:
    • Law Degree or Contract Management Course: Completion of a law degree or contract management course.
    • Previous Experience: Previous experience in contractual compliance or contract management.
    • Corporate or In-House Environment: At least 2+ years of experience in a corporate or in-house environment.
    • Contract Proficiency: Proficiency in reading contracts and identifying client requirements.
Desirable Skills and Qualities
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confident telephone and video call manner.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Learning Agility: Quick learner with the ability to follow new processes consistently.
  • Documentation Skills: Experience in accurately documenting and filing information.
  • Independence: Ability to work well independently while knowing when to seek guidance from team members.
  • Pressure Handling: Experience working in high-pressure environments.
  • Continuous Learning: Maintains a continuous learning approach, showing curiosity and interest in new ideas and opportunities.
