Job Title: Technical Development Lead

A skilled technical leader is required to oversee the development of enterprise-level business applications. This individual will have expertise in full stack Java, cloud technologies, web and mobile solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in application development patterns, engineering principles, and distributed systems architecture. They should be able to work closely with internal stakeholders and articulate technical designs and code.

This role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT. The candidate must have at least 13 years of experience designing and deploying large-scale applications. Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, containerization, Linux, Java/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, MVC, Angular JS, React, mobile and application middleware, ESB, Datapower XML/JSON, SOA and API management, distributed relational and noSQL databases is essential.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge across a broad range of application and engineering patterns;
  • Have a very strong history of working closely with internal stakeholders and be able to discuss and articulate detail designs and code to stakeholders;
  • Lead and oversee the application development across the full project lifecycle from gathering functional designs and creating technical specifications and managing their developing thru to test until deployment ensuring the end product is of a high quality standard.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience;
  • Minimum 13 years of related IT experience designing and deploying enterprise-level business or technical applications;
  • Working experience of distributed and cloud technologies including integration and configuration: e.g. Cloud work loads, Containerisation, Linux, Java/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, MVC, Angular JS, React, Mobile and Application Middleware, ESB, Datapower XML/JSON, SOA and API management, distributed relational and noSQL databases Postgres/Yugabyte along with tradition Oracle/MySQL/DB2, PhoneGap/ IOS/Android SDKs, etc.
  • Experience with microservices, mobile and web app security concepts, session Management, performance tuning, automated testing techniques, high availability engineering, and database technologies for mobile and web apps;
  • Cryptography, key management and security solutions on both mobile and server side with understanding of security protocols and cryptography including PKI, SSL, RSA, authentication, encryption, digital signatures;
  • Emerging technologies such as rules, AI and Machine Learning with good understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies such knowledge to support the needs of the business.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of application development technologies, tools, methodologies as well as all functional areas in an IT organization.

Additional skills that would be great to have include:

  • Any working experience working with other payment solutions including mainframe environment would be of advantage.
