Linux BSP Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux BSP Engineer to join our team at Tekpillar. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Yocto-based Embedded Linux distributions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Yocto-based Embedded Linux distributions, ensuring optimal system performance, boot time, and memory usage.
  • Design, implement, and customize Board Support Packages (BSPs) for target hardware, collaborating closely with hardware and application teams for system integration.
  • Work on the Linux kernel, bootloaders, and device drivers, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues efficiently.
  • Implement and maintain secure boot and update mechanisms, safeguarding against potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system development and deployment.
  • Provide expert debugging and root cause analysis for system-level issues, utilizing advanced debugging tools and techniques.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in Embedded Linux BSP development is essential for success in this role.
  • A minimum of 1 year hands-on experience with the Yocto Project is required.
  • Solid knowledge of the Linux kernel, bootloaders (U-Boot, etc.), and device drivers is necessary for effective system development.
  • Proficiency in C programming and cross-compilation toolchains is crucial for successful implementation.
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures is required for optimal system design and development.
  • Experience with build systems, version control (Git), and debugging tools is beneficial for efficient project management and issue resolution.
