Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Political Advisor to join our team at CryptoMize. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping our policy and research efforts.

Responsibilities
  1. Undertake Research: Conduct in-depth research to meet the needs of our Group Leader, Deputy Leaders, and LGA politicians, ensuring they can perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
  2. Assist with Policy Work: Collaborate with our team to develop and implement policy initiatives, submitting reports to relevant Party national forums.
  3. Liaise with Councilors: Establish relationships with Councilors to identify and research issues that support our Group's position on local government matters.
  4. Brief Contacts: Develop and deliver briefings on specific policy issues to a wide range of contacts, including central government, political parties, and special interest groups.
  5. Develop Relationships: Foster and maintain close, effective relationships with councils, key external contacts, and LGA staff.
  6. Support Members: Provide support for members by producing agendas and papers for meetings and undertaking necessary follow-up.
  7. Contribute to Events: Participate in the planning, organization, and delivery of Political Group events at conferences and seminars.
Required Skills
  1. Deep Understanding: Possess in-depth knowledge of local and central government, as well as the main political parties and their operations.
  2. Research and Writing: Have experience researching complex issues, writing reports, and preparing comprehensive briefings in a political environment.
  3. Organizational Skills: Be able to organize meetings, events, or other activities.
  4. Communication Skills: Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to accurately summarize and convey complex information, provide clear advice, and exercise discretion, judgment, and confidentiality.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate good interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with members, other clients, and colleagues with courtesy, tact, and sensitivity.
  6. Commitment to Customer Care: Show a demonstrable commitment to customer care.
  7. IT Skills: Have excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn new packages as required.
  8. Prior Experience: Possess prior experience as a political media advisor, with the ability to work as part of a team and support others.
  9. Flexibility: Be flexible and adaptable, with a keenness to adapt to changing work requirements.
  10. Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
