Technical Expert

Job Overview:

This role involves leading a team from a technical standpoint and providing IT support for various applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing problem workarounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Focus: For operational support and continuous improvement of infrastructure estates and processes.
  • Automation and process efficiency to reduce cycle times and improve reliability, audit, and traceability.
  • Consistent application of process, best practice, and system build standards.
  • Ensuring the Development Team has the right environment to maximise efficacy and obstacles are removed.
  • Operational Management: Ensuring Production is managed, supported, and controlled with appropriate governance and agility.
  • Protecting production environments through good practices, governance, and design.
  • Ensuring project and change releases are packaged correctly and deployed in agreed timescales.
  • Challenging software design and contributing to design decisions.
  • Addressing weaknesses in Process, Technology, and Service through continual improvement.
  • Documenting software and processes to prevent knowledge gaps.
  • Providing status updates as requested by Project/Change Leads.
  • People Leadership: Providing skilled resources to Project/Change Leads and managing skill gaps.
  • Managing Test Environment Engineers & Middleware specialists and supporting non-prod environment management.
  • Developing technical skills required for test environment management.
  • Supporting EDT globally as part of the test environment management team.
  • Governance & Risk: Ensuring SLAs are met, releases/deployments go smoothly, and post-deployment incidents are minimal.
  • Server patch levels adhering to policy.
  • Percentage of formal processes documented.
