Product Design Engineer

As a Product Design Engineer, you will contribute to projects spanning product development, engineering, and manufacturing. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, visualizing and developing designs that meet customer requirements while aligning with our company's commitment to sustainability, user-centric innovation and global standards.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in engineering, R&D, marketing and manufacturing to ensure that creative design intent is preserved through to technical execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Propose creative and innovative design solutions adhering to project objectives, customer requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop and present design concepts through 2D sketches, 3D models, renderings and physical prototypes.
  • Closely collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with technical requirements.
  • Lead product development projects from concept to production, ensuring design quality, brand alignment and timely delivery.
  • Provide industrial design support throughout the development process, ensuring preservation of design intent.
  • Conduct research on design trends, materials and ergonomics across industries.
  • Benchmark competitors and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers for design realization.
  • Mentor junior designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering a culture of creativity.
  • Contribute to R&D initiatives in areas such as product development and manufacturing.
  • Prepare insightful design reports and presentations for management and clients.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or Engineering from a reputable institution.
  • 2-5 years of proven experience in Industrial/Product Design with a strong portfolio of projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking products from concept to production.
  • Strong rendering and sketching skills, with the ability to visually communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design visualization tools.
  • Strong 3D modeling skills in software such as Rhino 3D, Blender, SolidWorks or Alias.
  • Proficiency in 3D rendering software such as KeyShot, VRED or Unreal Engine.
  • Understanding of ergonomics, user experience and sustainability-driven design principles.
  • Familiarity with prototyping, 3D scanning and surface development is a plus.
  • Experience with material and finish development, graphics and trims is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
  • Possion for innovation and problem-solving across industries.
  • Willingness to travel domestically/internationally for design reviews, vendor meetings and project collaborations.
