Overview of the Role:

The Automotive Electronics Hardware Director oversees the technical development and delivery of innovative electronics solutions for global vehicle Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). This includes Instrument clusters, Infotainment systems, cameras, information displays, and cockpit electronics controllers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical hardware design tasks independently
  • Review customer specifications to ensure compliance with automotive industry standards
  • Design and develop automotive products incorporating microprocessors, System-on-Chip (SOC), high-speed memory, LVDS, FPD Link-III circuitry, and other advanced technologies
  • Develop and maintain Microprocessor and DSP Digital Core, Audio, Camera, and video signals, analog, and digital control logic, linear and switching power supplies for automotive applications
  • Perform worst-case analysis and simulations to guarantee product compliance with customer requirements
  • Support product design reviews and create detailed documentation
  • Maintain electrical DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and generate necessary reports
  • Collaborate with ECAD designers to develop and release electrical information for PCB layout
  • Participate in hardware prototype build and testing processes
  • Contribute to the development of product verification plans and execute testing
  • Support Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and validation testing
  • Apply structured problem-solving techniques to resolve test failure issues
  • Present product designs, analysis, and testing results to customers
  • Utilize lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and multi-meters to troubleshoot and verify product performance

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of automotive electronics and hardware design principles
  • Strong knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations
  • Expertise in designing and developing complex electronic systems
  • Experience with CAD tools, ECAD software, and simulation tools
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
