Closures Design Engineer
About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Closures Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative closure systems for the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Design front door, rear door, tailgate, engine hood, and fender systems using CAD software such as CATIA and Teamcenter.
- Develop and execute project plans for closure systems, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and supply chain, to ensure smooth production and logistics.
- Conduct tolerance stack up and GD&T analysis to optimize closure system performance.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, showcasing design concepts and master sections.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Automobile) with 4-6 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience in closures design and development at an automobile OEM with 4-7 years of experience.
- Proficiency in working with sheet metal, aluminum, extrusions, and plastics parts.
- Sound knowledge of engineering and system documents, such as DFMEA, DVP, and DFA.
- Good technical knowledge of automotive sheet metal parts, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
