Capital Markets Specialist Position Summary

Job Title: Senior Operational Risk Specialist

Overview:

This role will focus on the lifecycle support for institutional trade flow, managing client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation and resolving confirmation and ISDA related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing Process Review and Enhancement (PRE) Self Inspection program (SIP), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), weekly production of WFS Operations metric program and assisting in monthly processing for Sub-Ledger Account Substantiation (SLAS).
  • Conduct Walk through (Process Risk Reviews) sessions with different operations teams and socialize team members to maintain a collaborative environment to perform process gap analysis, control testing, Metric Mapping, Identifying Key risk indicators and continuous monitoring.
  • Understand various aspects in Risk and Control Framework, like RCSA, Incident Management, Issue Management, Control Testing and Validation.
  • Team member heavily involves in interacting with EMEA business partners in delivering responsibilities like control testing, Incident Reporting, Risk reviews.

Requirements:

4+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience

Experience in Capital Market operations/middle office operations into the trade life cycle of static data, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations and investigations.

Good amount of working experience in product classes like FX, equity, fixed income with functional expertise of brokerage, broker dealer services.

Moderate experience in Operational risk, specifically identifying and assessing the Key risks, Key Controls, and key risk indicators.

English language proficiency. Ability to work nights

Attention to detail

Understanding of processes flows, process gaps and controls associated with a Capital Market operations/middle office operations

Knowledge of BCP and Risk Mgt.

MS Office skills

Desired Qualifications:

Understanding Capital Markets and different product taxonomies within the business segments (FX, Derivatives, Brokerage)

Knowing Risk function deliverables like Key Risks & Controls and the testing thereof

Importance and role of MIS

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of systems: GMI, Intellimatch, Imagine, Broadridge, Calypso

Good team player

Working experience in Corporate investment banking in the capacity of operational risk role
