Job Title: Network Engineer (Level 2)

 

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, with experience in implementing and supporting complex networks.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for handling second-level support and service requests, as well as providing top-level support for network issues.
  • You will also be expected to assist with technical support for networking such as WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, wireless, and security.
  • In addition, you will implement and support remote access solutions like IPSEC VPN, and understand DNS/DHCP concepts.
  • Work with vendor support to resolve client issues, utilize Command Line Interfaces to manage computer equipment, and provide IT support for technical issues involving Microsoft core business applications and operating systems.
  • Respond to and resolve alerts and tickets generated from the monitoring system and/or customer requests in a timely fashion.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education or training.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience as a network engineer, including phone, remote support, and hands-on experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience installing/configuring routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls (Cisco, Sophos, Palo Alto).

 

Certifications:

  • Actively working on one relevant certification track: Security+/ Network+/ CCNA / JNCIA.
  • Sophos, Palo Alto, Sonicwall certifications.

 

Scope of Work:

  • Perform fast turnaround of customer requests.
  • Perform network administrative duties on-site weekly.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding issues and potential problems.
  • Report to management potential problems with customer's computers, configurations, and/or environment.
