Purpose of the role

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out gears and gearbox installation, commissioning, overhauling, troubleshooting, and other field-related work at domestic and global sites as per contractual obligations.
  • They will be required to report to sites on time, execute jobs efficiently, meet contractual obligations, and generate service revenue from field service activities.
  • Additionally, they will be responsible for generating business leads and enquiries for spares, services, refurbishments, AMCs, and ARCs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Study the scope of work, technical documents, and drawings to generate service orders in SAP and coordinate with customers for manpower and tools requirements during site visits.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to identify potential problem areas and finalize the way forward, conducting required checks and trials at sites.
  • During service and troubleshooting, follow set procedures and guidelines based on equipment configuration and application, and align drives and driven equipment during installation and commissioning.
  • Generate reports and collect information in the prescribed format regarding other make gears and gearboxes during site visits and collect contact details of nearby sites with gearbox installations.
  • Generate business leads, service, and spare enquiries for existing and other make gearboxes.
  • Track shutdowns at sites.
  • Sign Minutes of Meeting (MOM) and record assembly parameters with alignment readings.
  • Generate service reports and invoices.

  • Customer satisfaction with service rendered.
  • Root cause and process improvement implementation.
  • Shutdown tracking and market information numbers.
  • Number of enquiries generated.

Personality traits/Competencies

  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in Hindi is a must.
  • Require inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, high energy level, motivation, and enthusiasm.
  • Good technical and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Good analytical capability.
  • Good resource management and practical creativity.

Job Specifications/Profile

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical.
  • Should have 2-3 years of experience in handling rotary equipment in the capital goods industry.
  • Ready to travel for long durations on short notice.
  • Conversant with MS-Office and SAP.
