As a key member of our solar project team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of mechanical works at our project sites.

Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide real-time design support for site-specific modifications in module mounting structures (MMS), trackers, and mechanical layouts. This includes reviewing and interpreting mechanical design drawings issued by our headquarters, preparing/modify site-specific mechanical drawings when required, conducting wind load and structural stability checks for site conditions, verifying MMS foundation positions, tilt angles, and row spacing as per design, supporting fabrication, welding, and erection quality checks against approved standards, providing design clarifications/modifications at site and coordinating with our headquarters for approvals, issuing red-marked drawings/as-built drawings after execution, and coordinating with civil and electrical teams to resolve interdisciplinary design issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and Interpretation: Review and interpret mechanical design drawings issued by our headquarters.
  • Site-Specific Design: Prepare/modify site-specific mechanical drawings when required.
  • Wind Load and Structural Stability: Conduct wind load and structural stability checks for site conditions.
  • MMS Foundation Position: Verify MMS foundation positions, tilt angles, and row spacing as per design.
  • Fabrication, Welding, and Erection Quality Checks: Support fabrication, welding, and erection quality checks against approved standards.
  • Design Clarifications/Modifications: Provide design clarifications/modifications at site and coordinate with our headquarters for approvals.
  • Red-Marked Drawings/As-Built Drawings: Issue red-marked drawings/as-built drawings after execution.
  • Interdisciplinary Design Issues: Coordinate with civil and electrical teams to resolve interdisciplinary design issues.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in CAD Tools: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design/drafting tools.
  • Strong Knowledge of MMS and Trackers: Strong knowledge of MMS, trackers, and steel structures used in solar projects.
  • Understanding of IS/IEC Codes: Understanding of IS/IEC codes, wind load standards, welding/fabrication practices.
  • Ability to Perform Basic Structural Calculations: Ability to perform basic structural calculations for MMS and support structures.
  • Familiarity with Quality Inspection: Familiarity with quality inspection of welding, bolting, and module installation.
  • Effective Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Effective communication and problem-solving skills for site-level challenges.
  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering: B.E./B.tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 5-8 Years of Experience: 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design and site execution (solar/renewable/industrial projects preferred).
