US Property Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled US Property Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in managing accounting processes and ensuring financial accuracy for U.S.-based clients.

The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders and clients to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting while supporting operational efficiencies.

This position requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in Sage Intacct and Yardi.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application to accounting processes, as well as in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, including lease accounting (ASC 842), CAM reconciliation, and other U.S. GAAP standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key member of a small advisory group, providing expert guidance and accounting solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with pod members, internal teams, and clients to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Communicate directly with clients (primarily U.S.-based) to address queries, provide updates, and ensure smooth project execution.

The US Property Accountant will be responsible for managing recurring bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients, ensuring consistent and accurate financial reporting. This includes performing monthly and quarter-end close processes, reconciling accounts on a monthly basis, and preparing quarterly financial statements within a 60-day window from the end of the quarter.

In addition, the successful candidate will oversee the CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliation process for clients, review transactions and processes, and identify discrepancies to ensure financial records comply with U.S. GAAP.
