We are seeking a highly skilled US Property Accountant to join our dynamic and collaborative team.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in managing accounting processes and ensuring financial accuracy for U.S.-based clients.
You should possess a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and have hands-on experience with lease accounting, CAM reconciliation, and other relevant accounting practices.
As a key member of a small advisory group, you will be working closely with internal stakeholders and clients to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting while supporting operational efficiencies.
Qualifications- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in financial management and compliance.
- Proven experience working with U.S.-based clients, with a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application to accounting processes.
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, including lease accounting (ASC 842), CAM reconciliation, and other U.S. GAAP standards.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, month-end/quarter-end close processes, and preparing financial statements.
- Strong ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to ensure data accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new processes, software, and technologies.
- Manage recurring financial tasks for multiple clients, ensuring consistent and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform monthly and quarter-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded and reconciled properly.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) within a 60-day window from the end of the quarter, adhering to U.S. GAAP standards.
- Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and balanced.
- Oversee the CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliation process for clients, ensuring proper allocation and accurate billing for shared expenses.
- Review transactions and processes, identifying discrepancies and ensuring financial records comply with U.S. GAAP.
- Review and manage lease agreements, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of lease liabilities, assets, and related expenses in line with U.S. GAAP (ASC 842).
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing solutions to enhance overall team effectiveness.
- Assist in the implementation of new systems, processes, or software to improve efficiency and accuracy in client deliverables.
- Provide training and support to junior staff or clients in the use of accounting software and industry best practices.
- Stay updated on U.S. GAAP regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance in all accounting activities.
- Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects, ensuring clear communication and high-quality output.
