Senior Cloud Database Architect

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a SQL Server DBA with strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades, Always On Availability Groups, and cloud migrations (AWS preferred). The ideal candidate will play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability.
About the Role:- Lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
- Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments.
- Plan and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
- Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.
- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions.
- Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
- Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
- Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
