Procurement Manager Role Overview

The Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing, purchasing and managing inventory of key raw materials such as Hot Rolled Coils, hot rolled plates and coated steel essential for manufacturing solar mounting structures, transmission towers and wind towers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials based on production demands and market conditions to optimize business outcomes.
  • Identify evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure best terms and maintain robust supply chain ensuring high quality products at competitive prices.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders track deliveries and resolve any procurement-related issues in a timely manner to avoid delays.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations for steel products and adjust purchasing plans accordingly to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Closely collaborate with production quality control finance and plant planning teams to align procurement with manufacturing needs and quality standards.
  • Effectively manage inventory levels to balance between availability and cost optimizing stock levels to meet business requirements.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with company procurement policies safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and prepare reports on procurement performance cost savings and supplier evaluations to inform strategic decisions.
  • Support vendor development and conduct periodic supplier audits to maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering Materials Management Business Administration or related field.
  • Proven experience in raw material procurement in steel or manufacturing industries with a focus on process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of HRC coated steel hot rolled plates and supply chain dynamics to drive informed procurement decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven procurement decisions to optimize business outcomes.
  • Proficient in procurement software applications to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines to meet business objectives.
