Inventory Management Specialist

The role of Inventory Management Specialist is a crucial position in any manufacturing or engineering setup. This position requires a candidate with 3+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a similar industry.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Accurate record-keeping of raw materials, components, finished goods, and consumables in the stores.
    • Monitoring minimum and maximum stock levels, raising alerts for reordering, and preventing stockouts or overstocking.
    • Conducting regular physical stock verification and reconciling with system records.
  • Internal Stakeholder Support:
    • Issuing materials to production, maintenance, and other departments based on approved requisitions.
    • Coordinating with production teams to ensure availability of required materials for uninterrupted operations.
  • Vendor & Procurement Coordination:
    • Coordinating with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
    • Verifying incoming materials against purchase orders (quantity, quality, and specifications).
    • Preparing Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and reporting discrepancies to procurement/quality teams.
  • Data Management & Reporting:
    • Maintaining and updating inventory records in ERP/software/manual registers as per company standards.
    • Generating and sharing regular reports on stock movement, consumption patterns, material shortages, and wastages.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensuring proper handling, storage, and preservation of materials in line with safety and quality standards.
    • Adhering to company policies and audit requirements related to inventory and stores management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and store operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP/Inventory Management systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
