Storage Engineering Expert Required

A pivotal role in Mainframe Storage System engineering is now available. As a key member of the team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of our storage infrastructure.

  • Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining Mainframe storage subsystems to ensure compatibility, performance, and reliability.
  • Develop and implement storage capacity planning and provisioning strategies to meet current and future storage requirements.
  • Configure and manage storage management software and utilities to automate storage administration tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor storage performance and resource utilization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and optimizing data placement.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery and data replication solutions for Mainframe storage systems.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, and application teams to support data backup and recovery operations and data migration projects.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and standards for storage administration tasks.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to internal teams and end-users, troubleshooting and resolving storage-related issues.

To be successful, you will require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience. 8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management are also required.

Additional experience in IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Technical V2 or equivalent certification in Mainframe storage administration would be beneficial. Experience with Mainframe virtualization technologies such as z/VM and z/Linux, and DevOps practices and tools for Mainframe storage administration and automation are also desirable.
