DB2 Database Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced DB2 database administrator to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with expertise in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting DB2 systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the DB2 database system, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing.
  • Develop and implement database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database solutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DB2 administration.
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 architecture, including storage, memory, and I/O management.
  • Experience with HADR, replication, and other high-availability features.
  • Expertise in database security, including authentication, authorization, and auditing.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or shell script.
  • Certification in DB2 administration, such as IBM Certified Database Administrator.
