Job Description

As an Intellectual Property Rights Specialist, you will be responsible for safeguarding the company's intellectual property assets and ensuring their effective protection. Your primary duties will include:

  • Protecting IP Assets: Ensure the security and integrity of our intellectual property, including know-how.
  • Intellectual Property Defense: Defend our intellectual property against third-party attacks.
  • Patent Analysis: Conduct patentability searches, literature searches, and IP analysis to support product launches.
  • Trademark Management: Register, enforce, maintain, and defend trademarks worldwide.
  • Patent Prosecution: Draft patent applications and oversee prosecution in different jurisdictions.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Educational Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. in Chemistry, M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, or Polymer Technology is essential.
  • PREFERRED PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights and/or a Patent Agent/Trademark Agent qualification would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with patents and trademarks in various countries is crucial.

You must possess excellent communication and drafting skills, be able to stay updated on the latest developments in the IP domain, and have hands-on experience in patent prosecution and trademark filing.

Technical skills required include patent searching (infringement searches, FTO searches, patentability, prior art searches), patent drafting, patent prosecution (drafting responses to Office Actions, attending hearings until grant), and trademark filing and prosecution.
