Lead Structural Engineer Position

This is a senior engineering role that involves working on complex projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop feasibility studies that meet client requirements and review them with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create detailed designs that meet employer specifications.
  • Agree and manage the scope of works with stakeholders.
  • Define building requirements and purposes of use with stakeholders to enable detailed design.
  • Perform detailed design in accordance with client requirements, standard codes, QA and technical review, and sign off by stakeholders.
  • Review and monitor the production of calculations, including QA and technical reviews.
  • Ensure project costing preparation information is completed accurately and on time, and keep stakeholders informed about design progress.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents and review input from team members.
  • Lead the design process and encourage the team to deliver cost-effective solutions within agreed timelines.
  • Follow document control and QA processes, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are issued and filed appropriately, and coach junior staff in their usage.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in structural engineering, preferably in a similar role or with a good track record.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with technical software such as RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE and STAAD.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in English with excellent technical terminology knowledge.
  • Good management, communication and technical skills, with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
