Principal Engineer

The role of Principal Engineer is to lead the development and implementation of bridge design solutions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair of bridges.
    • Prepare new bridge designs and strengthening designs in accordance with UK standards.
    • Conduct design and assessment checks on bridges, culverts, and ancillary structures.
    • Assess and prepare reports on existing bridges and their structural integrity.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to compile drawings, specifications, and correspondence within set deadlines.
    • Implement document control and QA processes for all work carried out.
    • Develop and improve skills in software applications such as MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, and SAM.
    • Participate in team meetings and learning sessions to disseminate information and share knowledge.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • Bridge Design experience
    • UK CEng certification
    • Proficiency in Eurocodes
