Job Description

The front-end engineering officer is responsible for supporting valve quotation work and submitting quotations to customers/distributors in a timely and accurate manner. They review customer specifications and requirements, offering suitable technical solutions and cost-effective options. The officer must quote prices and lead times that meet customer needs while adhering to SBU rules for pricing and manufacturing plant lead time guidelines.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing customer requests for quotations, analyzing specifications, and proposing suitable product designs and solutions for the application.
  • Analyzing costing and building pricing models.
  • Requiring and participating in pre-bid technical clarification meetings with customers.
  • Participating in technical clarification meetings with customers until complete and final technical alignment to customer specifications.
  • Preparing technical bids with clarifications and deviations, liaising with other functions.
  • Sending and managing Request for Quotations (RFQ) to actuator manufacturers to complete automated valves quotations.
  • Sending and managing RFQ for missing costing to complete competitive costing assessments.
  • Completing whole valves and other variances costing evaluations/building pricing following rules and aligning with business strategy for product pricing.
  • Ensuring technical support and clarification to local Sales Offices.
  • Managing intercompany product quotations in compliance with company and/or business unit pricing policies.
  • Translating customer specifications into product information, including commercial Bill Of Material and other document creations.
  • Receiving and releasing orders to manufacturing (creation of inspection and test plans, procedures, online entry of valve technical parameters).
  • Participating in post-order technical meetings (i.e., kick-off meetings) with internal functions to ensure consistency with agreed conditions.
  • Being the point of reference for Technical Quality (TQ) during post-order contract review meetings.
  • Supporting Internal Project Management teams (IPM) with change orders.
  • Supporting and providing solutions to Procurement Departments if cost estimations are not correct.
Required Skills and Qualifications

You will need:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field, with mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Fluency in English, with one other language preferred.
  • Previous experience in the flow control industry, with the ability to understand valve and actuation applications.
  • A good understanding of fluid mechanics, electro-mechanical equipment, and metal physical/chemical properties.
