Identity Verification Specialist

Job Overview:

The Identity Verification Specialist is responsible for examining failed identity verifications and manual document submissions to determine approval or rejection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough examinations of failed identity verifications to identify disparities, inconsistencies, or signs of forgery in submitted documents.
  • Elevate unclear or suspicious cases for further review by Management.
  • Detect fraudulent activity, such as repeated falsified documents from different regions, and escalate concerns to Management.
  • Monitor and analyze fraudulent identity trends, including synthetic identities and deepfake documents.
  • Document detected fraudulent activity and identity trends.
  • Identify technical errors in the document verification process and suggest improvements.
  • Support training efforts to educate colleagues on document verification best practices and fraud detection methods.

Requirements:

  • Experience in identity verification, fraud prevention, KYC/AML compliance, or a similar role in investment brokerage, fintech, banking, or financial services.
  • Proficiency in using identity verification tools.
  • Strong understanding of global identification documents and fraud detection trends.
  • Ability to detect fraud patterns and assess high-risk identity verification cases.
  • Attention to detail is non-negotiable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions while adhering to company policies and regulations.
