Trade Accountant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Trade Accountant to join our team. As a Trade Accountant, you will be responsible for providing financial expertise and support to our clients. This includes onboarding new clients, investigating and explaining balance sheet and profit/loss movements, and managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Onboard clients on our platform, including knowledge of settlements of over-the-counter (OTC) products and swap resets.
  • Investigate and explain balance sheet and profit/loss movements, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve any issues.
  • Handle end-to-end onboarding of new clients, gathering requirements and showcasing our capabilities clearly.
  • Manage stakeholders' expectations, being proactive in identifying their needs, articulating the scope of the offering, escalating issues in a timely manner, and showcasing persuasiveness in bringing about changes.
  • Learn and enhance knowledge on our platform and the industry, not restricted to current area of expertise.
  • Perform various activities such as data gathering, gap analysis, mapping, data transformation, loading and reconciliation, business-as-usual (BAU) activities setup, client parallel support etc in our platform as part of client implementation.
  • Work with technology teams as needed, by assisting in special projects, developing bespoke reports, developing specifications, product implementation and user acceptance testing (UAT).


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in trade accounting paired with in-depth domain/finance knowledge.
  • A strong understanding of the intricacies of daily trade, position, swap mark-to-market (MTMs), and cash reconciliations against prime brokers/custodians/administrators.
  • An intricate understanding and experience of handling counterparty and admin reconciliations end-to-end.
  • An in-depth understanding of the various stages of the trade life-cycle and strong accounting acumen.
  • Good understanding of investor allocations and PerformA onboarding exposure is an added advantage.
