About the Role:

  • Lead a team of Data Engineers, SREs, and Operations staff supporting Accounting and Finance Technology platforms.
  • Manage people, oversee delivery, and ensure operational excellence, guaranteeing financial systems and applications run smoothly, reliably, and in alignment with Finance business needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Manage a team of engineers and operations staff, providing coaching, feedback, and career development support.
  2. Delivery Oversight: Ensure project deliverables and operational commitments are met on time, with high quality and compliance.
  3. Operational Management: Oversee the smooth running of Accounting and Finance platforms, ensuring adherence to SLAs for availability, reliability, and data accuracy.
  4. Incident & Problem Management: Ensure effective resolution of incidents; coordinate root cause analysis and track corrective actions.
  5. Process Adherence: Ensure the team follows established engineering, SRE, and operational best practices (code reviews, change management, monitoring, compliance).
  6. Resource Allocation: Assign work across the team, balancing project and operational demands.
  7. Reporting: Track and report on team progress, system performance, and operational metrics to senior leadership.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process automation, tooling improvements, and efficiency gains.

 

Required Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years of experience in technology roles, with 2–3 years in people management of engineering or operations teams.
  • Experience managing delivery of technical projects or supporting mission-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, accounting platforms, or financial data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of operational practices including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills with the ability to partner with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

 

Must Have Skills:

  • People Management for a data engineering team, responsible for building scalable data pipelines for financial systems.
