Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to play a key role in ensuring the stability and reliability of our software systems.

Maintaining and enhancing existing applications is crucial to meeting business requirements. You will optimize performance, address technical debt, and implement necessary updates to ensure seamless collaboration between support and development efforts within an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design and implement scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions. With a continuous improvement mindset, you will conduct code and design reviews, leveraging modern development tools to improve quality and productivity.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Java (J2EE, Spring Boot Microservices) with experience in maintaining and developing enterprise applications. Good working knowledge in React Front-end development and integration is also essential. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, particularly in production environments, are required.

A solid understanding of software development and support best practices, Agile methodologies, and Scrum workflows is necessary. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, are vital for success in this role.

Nice to have experience with PHP in a LAMP stack environment and AWS cloud-hosted environments. Background in the EdTech industry is beneficial but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues to ensure system stability and reliability.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications by optimizing performance, addressing technical debt, and implementing necessary updates.
  • Develop and deploy new features, improvements, and enhancements in alignment with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design and implement scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions.
  • Operate with a continuous improvement mindset, conducting code and design reviews, and leveraging modern development tools to improve quality and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests to support system reliability.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between support and development efforts within an Agile environment.
