Overview

The role of a senior data architect involves designing and developing features within an existing data warehouse, establishing connections between engineering, product, and analytics/data scientists teams, implementing and updating batch ETL pipelines, defining and implementing data architecture, building reliable datasets for company-wide use, and working with data orchestration tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex data warehousing solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels among cross-functional teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain large-scale ETL pipelines using batch processing techniques.
  • Define and implement comprehensive data architectures that align with business goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build high-quality datasets that support business decision-making.
  • Utilize data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect to automate and monitor processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles and models.
  • Proficiency in data modeling paradigms including Kimball, Inmon, Data Marts, Data Vault, and Medallion.
  • Experience with cloud-based data strategies and big data technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Expertise in SQL, PostgreSQL development, query optimization, and index design.
  • Advanced understanding of statistical analysis and its applications in data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
