Job Title: Cloud Data Engineer

This is a long-term contract role, working remotely from India and requiring US work hours.

As a cloud data engineer, you will be responsible for developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining large volumes of structured and unstructured data acquisition pipelines in Google Cloud. This includes batch and real-time processing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building an ingestion pipeline using REST API
  • Developing JSON messaging structure for integrating with various applications
  • Leveraging a variety of tools in the Google Cloud Ecosystem, including Python, Data Flow, DataStream, CDC (Change Data Capture), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage to integrate systems and data pipelines
  • Partition/Cluster and retrieving content in Big Query and using IAM roles & Policy Tags to secure the data

Additionally, you will be expected to use logs & alerts to effectively monitor pipelines, identify opportunities for data acquisition via working with stakeholders and business clients, and translate business needs to technical requirements.

Qualifications include:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a data engineering role – with core GCP experience of 3-4 years.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data integration, data quality, and data governance.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
