Job Title: Senior Data Architect

This role involves leading a team of senior data engineers to design and develop cloud-native data-intensive applications. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend and data engineering.

The successful applicant will be responsible for proposing architecture, solving complex situations, and interacting directly with clients for requirement gathering. They will also build a holistic roadmap, identify risks, and have mitigation strategies in place.

The following skills and qualifications are required:

  • At least 10 years of experience in data engineering with 4+ years of leadership experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in using Python, JVM, and Shell Scripting with production experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in building cloud-native data-intensive applications, with Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience being a must.
  • Data warehouse design and development expertise is necessary.
  • Databricks and dbt experience is required.
  • Airflow experience is essential for architecting and implementing workflow management systems.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience in building and maintaining Spark applications.
  • Fundamental understanding of Parquet, Delta Lake, and other OTFs file formats.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with observability systems such as Datadog or Prometheus/Grafana.
  • Strong experience in building Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes, with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins being good to have.

The following soft skills are necessary:

  • Leading a team of 4-5 senior engineers.
  • Client communication and requirement gathering.
  • Interacting directly with clients for requirement gathering.
