Job Title: Data Governance Expert

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced data governance professional to join our team. The role involves leading and executing data governance engagements, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and embedding data quality into client processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage data governance projects across industries, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Design, review, and enhance data policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Implement and monitor data controls, including data subject rights and consent management.
  • Collaborate with IT, Legal, and Risk functions to ensure data compliance in technology and business processes.
  • Drive awareness sessions and training programs on data governance and protection.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and clients on data risks, compliance gaps, and remediation strategies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4-10 years of relevant experience in data governance, information security, or compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of data laws and regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with data audits, assessments, and compliance programs.
  • Exposure to ISO 27001 and other security frameworks.
  • Ability to manage client engagements, lead teams, and deliver projects within timelines.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CIPT/CIPP-E/CISM/CISA or equivalent certifications.
  • ISO 27001 Implementer/Lead Auditor is an advantage.
