About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in database administration, who can design scalable data architectures, ensure high availability, and support development teams with optimized queries and resilient data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, monitor, and tune production and staging databases across MSSQL and PostgreSQL
  • Manage high availability, backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Ensure uptime and performance SLAs are met across cloud and hybrid environments

AWS Cloud Expertise

  • Administer RDS, Aurora, and EC2-hosted database instances
  • Monitor database performance using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and third-party tools

Data Architecture & Design

  • Work with engineering teams to model new schemas, optimize indexes, and review queries
  • Implement and enforce best practices in database normalization, partitioning, and data lifecycle management

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure data encryption, access controls, and audit logging are in place and compliant with company policies
  • Support GDPR/SOC 2/ISO 27001 initiatives with appropriate database controls and evidence collection

Collaboration & Mentoring

  • Provide database guidance to developers and DevOps teams during code reviews and deployments
  • Share knowledge, mentor junior DBAs, and improve documentation and internal tooling
