Job Description

The Food and Beverage Operations Specialist is a key member of our team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food and beverage outlets. This individual will work closely with management to develop and implement strategies for achieving food and beverage goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business strategies for the hotel's food and beverage operations
  • Lead and participate in food and beverage projects as requested by management
  • Assist in managing food and beverage outlets, including auditing and maintaining food safety standards
  • Respond to food safety inspections and reports, and track use of hotel foodstuff
  • Menu-suggest, review, and approve changes, set pricing, and ensure outlets meet or exceed brand standards
  • Review guest complaints and respond as appropriate, and track completion of training new outlet management
  • Work with food vendors and purchasing to maintain high food quality, establish relationships, and negotiate pricing where possible
  • Attend vendor fairs and participate in food tastings, assist Accounting with vendor disputes regarding invoices and payment, and communicate effectively with guests, management, employees, and regional office
  • Promote Food and Beverage outlets through advertising and public relations campaigns through local sources, work closely with Restaurant and Kitchen Managers to maximize revenue while meeting or exceeding guest expectations
Requirements
  • Attends work on time and as scheduled, follows hotel grooming and hygiene standards, minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
  • Keeps Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance, performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures
  • Maintains a favourable working relationship with all other hotel employees to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working environment
