Job Purpose:

The Residential Supervisor will oversee the overall management, discipline, safety, and well-being of students residing in the hostel. This role requires maintaining a healthy, secure, and student-friendly environment, ensuring compliance with university policies, and addressing the needs of hostel residents.

Main Responsibilities:

• Hostel Administration: Oversee day-to-day hostel operations, including accommodation, maintenance, housekeeping, and catering.
• Manage hostel rooms and maintain updated records of occupancy.
• Monitor hostel infrastructure and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Evaluate and ensure hygienic conditions and proper functioning of hostel facilities.

Student Welfare & Discipline:

• Maintain order, discipline, and decorum among hostel residents.
• Provide support and address grievances and counseling needs of students.
• Ensure safety, security, and well-being of students within the hostel premises.
• Enforce rules, regulations, and codes of conduct for students.

Coordination & Supervision:

• Supervise support staff including ward boys, housekeeping, and security personnel.
• Collaborate with mess staff for quality food service and timely meals.
• Liaise with the university administration on hostel-related matters.
• Organize hostel activities, orientation, and community-building events.

Safety & Security:

• Implement effective security measures in the hostel premises.
• Maintain visitor records and restrict unauthorized entry.
• Act promptly during emergencies (medical, safety, or disciplinary).
• Ensure compliance with fire safety and health regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree (preferably in Management, Social Sciences, Education, or related field).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Hostel Warden/Administrator (experience in an educational institution preferred).
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and responsibly.
• Proficiency in MS Office and record-keeping.
