Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-voltage electrical systems for transmission and distribution networks up to 400kV, adhering to international standards for utility companies in the US, UK, Europe, Middle East, and South East Asia regions.
  • Experience with design of HV/LV distribution systems for Oil & Gas Sector , WIND,BESS projects is highly valued.
  • Primary system design involves preparation of key SLDs, protection & control SLDs, schematics, AC/DC SLDs, LVAC System design, cable schedule, Interconnection Schedule, Bulk MTO.
  • Evaluate layouts of outdoor switchyards, indoor substations, trench/tray layouts, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection layouts.
  • Proficient in ETAP or SKM software for independent modeling of electrical systems, load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protection relay setting studies arc flash studies.
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations for transformers, generators, HV/LV cables, AC UPS, Capacitor Banks.
  • Prepare technical specifications, data sheets for Electrical Equipment Transformers, DG Sets, Switchgear, UPS, Battery Charger, Distribution Boards.
  • Assess vendor drawings for various Electrical Equipment including review of schematics for HV/LV systems.
  • Lead interdisciplinary coordination and effectively collaborate with Lead office teams.
  • This role may involve extended but temporary out-of-town assignments.
  • Oversee the design team to meet deadlines, manage performance through task management of design engineers and CAD Technicians.
  • Ensure accountability, delivery, and profitability by monitoring design costs.
  • Share knowledge and experience with colleagues to coach and develop junior staff members.
Candidate Specification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Relevant experience in electrical design for Transmission and Distribution systems, GIS/Outdoor Switchyards, up to 400kV AC systems in a consultancy organisation.
  • Preferably experienced working with Utility companies in the US, UK, Europe, Middle East.
  • Design experience in HV/LV Electrical Systems for Oil & Gas projects is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with electrical design software such as Dialux, ETAP.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and basic knowledge of AUTOCAD/3D Modelling Software like Revit.
  • Ability to work independently as part of an integrated team and lead office collaboration.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to use technology to find innovative solutions.
