
Senior Resident Neurologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Resident Neurologist to join our esteemed team. As a key member of our neurology department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of innovative treatments and therapies.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Care- Evaluate and manage patients with various neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, neuromuscular disorders, headache disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.
- Conduct thorough neurological examinations and interpret diagnostic tests such as MRI, CT scans, EEG to formulate individualized treatment plans.
- Manage acute neurological emergencies, follow up on patients admitted under neurology services, and provide ongoing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Inpatient Care: Handle neurological emergencies, conduct consultations, and monitor and follow up on patients admitted for neurological services.
- Outpatient Care: Perform initial assessments, provide ongoing care, and track the progression of chronic neurological conditions.
- Collaborate with specialists in neurosurgery, neuroradiology, psychiatry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to provide holistic care to patients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions to ensure comprehensive treatment plans and coordinated care.
- Assist or perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including:
- Lumbar punctures for cerebrospinal fluid analysis.
- Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) for neuromuscular evaluation.
- Botulinum toxin injections for conditions like chronic migraines or dystonia.
- Deep brain stimulation programming for Parkinson's disease and movement disorders.
- Provide care for patients with epilepsy, including the diagnosis and management of seizures.
- Prescribe antiepileptic medications and assess eligibility for surgical intervention when appropriate.
- Offer counseling to patients and families on seizure safety and management.
- Participate in the acute management of stroke patients, including the administration of thrombolytic therapy (when appropriate).
- Develop and implement stroke prevention strategies and create rehabilitation plans for post-stroke recovery.
- MD in Neurology or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Previous experience in neurology, preferably in a clinical residency setting.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in neurology.
- Expertise in neurological examination, interpreting imaging studies (MRI, CT), and managing neurological emergencies.
- Ability to perform procedures such as lumbar punctures, EMG, NCS, botulinum toxin injections, and deep brain stimulation programming.
- In-depth knowledge of epilepsy management, including the use of antiepileptic medications and surgical options.
